IRMA J. LADIGES
White Salmon resident Irma J. Ladiges died last Thursday
at home. She was 73.
Mrs. Ladiges was born in Glenwood on June 18, 1918 to
Julia (McGrath) and Edward Krall. As a young girl she traveled to areas of
Sunnyside, Sisters, Ore., Camas and Little Cascade Locks (known as North
Bonneville) before residing in Glenwood at the age of seven. She graduated
from high school in 1936, at which time she married Max Ladiges, Jr,. of
Glenwood Valley.
The early years of marriage were spent in ranching both
in Washington and Idaho. The couple bought the Glenwood Market which they
operated for the next 28 years before selling and moving to Pucker Huddle
in White Salmon which has been their home for the last 19 years.
A charter member of the Klickitat Historical Society,
Mrs. Ladiges was also a member of the Camas Prairie and Vicinity Pioneer
Association. She was also a past member of the Evergreen Eastern Star, Glenwood
Grange Ladies Aid, Women's Club, Pioneer Memorial Church Building Committee,
Cub Scouts den mother, Brownie Scouts assistant leader and served many years
as part of the body of the Pioneer Memorial Church before moving to White
Salmon to become a member of the Grace Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Max of White Salmon;
children, Ronald Ladiges of White Salmon; Coral Ladiges of Yakima, and Gloria
Harter of Glenwood; brother Norman Krall of BZ Corners; four grandchildren
and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Grace Baptist Church on
Saturday, followed by burial at Mt. Adams Cemetery in Glenwood. Contributions
may be given to the Grace Baptist Church Building Fund or American Diabetes
Association.

Irma J. Ladiges, 73, of White Salmon died on Sept. 26,
1991, at her home.
Irma June Krall Ladiges was born in Glenwood on June
18, 1918. As a baby, she traveled with her parents, Edward and Julia Krall,
to Sunnyside, then to Sisters, Ore., Camas and Little Cascade Locks (now
North Bonneville), before returning to Glenwood at the age of seven. She
resided in Glenwood for three years before moving to the Wykre Ranch at Gilmer
Valley. She returned to Glenwood three years later before graduating from
high school in 1936.
The same year, she married Max Ladiges, Jr,. of Glenwood
Valley. The two had three children, Ronald Ladiges of White Salmon; Coral
Ladiges of Yakima, and Gloria Harter of Glenwood. During the first eight
years of marriage, the couple ranched in both Washington and Idaho.
The couple later bought the Glenwood Market which they
operated for the next 28 years before selling and moving to the Pucker Huddle
area of White Salmon, which has been their home for the last 19 years.
Ladiges was a lifetime and charter member of the Klickitat
Historical Society, a member of the Camas Prairie and Vicinity Pioneer
Association, past member of the Evergreen Eastern Star, Glenwood Grange Ladies
Aid, Women's Club, Pioneer Memorial Church Building committee, Cub Scouts
den mother, Brownie Scouts Assistant Leader and served many years as part
of the body of the Pioneer Memorial Church before moving to White Salmon
and joining the Grace Baptist Church.
Besides her husband and children, Ladiges leaves a brother,
Norman Krall of BZ Corners; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A granddaughter, Glenda Harter preceded her in death.
Interment was held in the Mt. Adams Cemetery in Glenwood.
