IRA FENDER
Ira Lester "Jack" Fender, a Lyle resident sine 1959,
died May 9 in Lyle at the age of 92.
Mr. Fender was born Feb. 24, 1891 in McCallister, Okla.,
to Mr. and Mrs. R.M. Fender. The retired construction worker was a member
of teamsters local 335 and the Baptist Church in Oklahoma.
He is survived by his children, Mae Stidham, Tulare,
Calif., Mary Eikleberry, Kiowa, Okla., Dow Fender, Boise, Idaho, Ann Simms,
McCallister, Okla., and Rachel Chambers, Portland; one brother, Bruce Fender,
White Swan, Okla.; two sisters, Hester Woods, Eugene, Ore., and Catherine
Wilkie, Antlers, Okla.; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and
great-great-grandchildren; and step-children, Elaine Boyd, Prairie Grove,
Ark., Vida Loften and Clinton Klines, Winslow, Ark., and Benny Barnett and
Clayton Barnett, Portland.
Funeral services for Mr. Fender were held Friday at 10
a.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon, with Pastor Pat Dillon officiating.
Interment was in the Lyle Cemetery.
