LUELEE FULLER
Iola Luelee Fuller was born in Martinville, Ark., on
Sept. 12, 1921, to Orval and Bonnie Geary. She died on July 8, 2001, at her
home in Bingen, at the age of 79.
Luelee and Upton Fuller were married March 3,1939, at
Dennard, Ark., and lived in Elberta. Ark., until they came to Washington
in 1953, for the first time. They have lived in Bingen since Oct.18, 1956.
Mrs. Fuller was a member of the Bingen Assembly of God
Church. Going to church was her life; she enjoyed working in all areas of
the church. She served as board member, WMC president, vice president, secretary,
treasurer, Sunday School teacher, CA leader, Booster Band leader, SS secretary,
church secretary/treasurer, and janitor.
She also enjoyed helping others, crocheting, embroidering,
quilting (she quilted five quilts for each of her children), and getting
together with family, which was so important to her. When great-grand-daughter
Kaity Hall was born on her birthday, that was a delight to her. Singing Southern
Gospel music and eating watermelon on sunny days at her children's homes
were good times, too.
Mrs. Fuller is survived by her husband, Upton Fuller;
children Clarence Fuller, Bingen. Joan and Charlie Long, Bingen, and Bonnie
and Erik Lund, Washougal; sisters Ruby Knight, Spartanburg. S.C., and Monteen
Reynolds, Marshall, Ark.; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orval and Bonnie
Geary, sisters Hazel Wagner, Mary Evelyn "Vick" Bonds, and Lucille Tindall;
son Wesley Ray Fuller; grand-daughter Bonnie Athman; and great-granddaughter
Laura Kuenzel.
Funeral services were held July 12, 2001, at Gardner
Chapel in White Salmon. Interment was at White Salmon Cemetery.
Memorials may he made to Hospice of the Gorge.
