MRS. H. HOIKKA PASSES AWAY ON JUNE 12TH
Mrs. Herman Hoikka, 60, who spent her entire life in
Centerville, passed away June 12th at the Goldendale General Hospital after
a long illness.
The daughter of Herman and Katie Lehto, she was born
in Centerville on November 28th, 1888. She was united in marriage to Herman
Hoikka on January 7, 1907. Ten children were born to this marriage, four
of whom the preceded her in death.
A member of the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran Church, Mrs.
Hoikka has been a faithful member of her church since early childhood.
She is survived by her husband, Herman Hoikka; one son,
Arnold; five daughters, Louise Hoikka and Esther Rein, Centerville, Linda
Scott of Battle Ground, Elina Grabin and Martha Hunt of Des Moines, Iowa;
and two grandchildren, Glenn and Lynn Scott.
Mrs. Hoikka is also survived by three sisters, two brothers,
one half sister, and many other relatives. Her many friends mourn her death.
Pall bearers for the funeral included Peter Anderson,
Alvin Randall, Ernest Basse, Otis Mattson, Albin Wiidanen, and Merle Wiidanen.
