JAMES BRAZELTON
James Brazelton was born February 5, 1880 at Georgetown,
Ill., son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Brazelton. During his youth he was employed
in the coal mines near his birthplace.
He moved to Bellingham with his parents when 19 years
of age, and a year later the family came by horse and wagon to the Firwood
district north, of Goldendale.
He farmed there for years before moving to Goldendale
where he served as Water Superintendent for 21 years until his retirement
in 1953.
He passed away July 5 at his home at the age of 78, after
a long illness.
He is survived by his wife Maidie; a son, Alva of
Bakersfield, Calif.; a daughter, Thelma Perry of Seattle; a stepdaughter,
Mrs. Henry Klatt of Goldendale; four grandsons and one great grandson. He
is also survived by two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services were held at Phillips Funeral Chapel
July 7 with the Rev. P. Glenn Garner officiating. Mrs. Steve Huennekens sang,
accompanied by Mrs. Lawrence Ropp. Jim was laid to rest in the family plot
in Spring Creek Cemetery.
