FINAL RITES THIS FRIDAY FOR JAMES HORE

     Jim Hore, resident of White Salmon, passed away at a nursing home in Gresham, Oregon, on April 13th. He was born in Cornwall, England, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Hore, on August 2nd, 1908 He had been a resident of this community since about 1936.
     He was united in marriage to Iris Grant in North Bonneville, Wash., on Nov. 5, 1937.
     For many years he was employed by the Broughton Lumber Company at Underwood as superintendent of the plaining mill. He was a member of the Mt. Adams Elks Lodge No. 1868 of White Salmon.
     Surviving are his wife, Iris, of White Salmon; two sons: Charles Hore of Maupin, Oregon and Lt. Gerald Hore, who is serving in the armed forces in Crete, Greece. There are also two sisters: Mrs. Hazel Gipson of Caldwell, Idaho and Mrs. Marian McCullough of Caldwell, Idaho.
     Donations can be made to the Elks Cerebral Palsy fund in lieu of flowers.
     Recitation of the Rosary will be Thursday evening at 8 p.m. at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in White Salmon, with Requiem Mass on Friday Morning at 11 a.m. Interment will be in White Salmon.
     Casket bearers will be: Vern Newell, Ben DeBere, Ray Mills, Oscar Mills, Oscar Sterrett, Don Thomas, Doyle Vandeventer.
