J.H. McCumber, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Marvin, in this city, last Wednesday evening. Mr. McCumber, a long time resident of Glenwood, Wn., leaves two daughters and two sons to mourn his loss, and many friends.

JAMES MCCUMBER FUNERAL HELD THURSDAY
GLENWOOD -- The funeral of James McCumber was held Thursday afternoon and was conducted by the Masonic lodge members of White Salmon, assisted by S.S. Surface, Brooks Livingston and John Chandler, of Glenwood. Mr. McCumber passed away at White Salmon June 27th, at his daughter's home, Mrs. John Marvin, where he was only ill ten days. He was 74 years of age and had always enjoyed the best of health. He came to this valley from Echo, Oregon, about thirty-five years ago, and has made his home here ever since. He leaves four children to mourn his loss, Mrs. Vida Marvin, Mrs. Eloise Wallace, of White Salmon; Ivan and Earl, of Glenwood. His wife passed away in 1923, and was buried at Echo. Mr. McCumber was a member of the Umatilla Masonic lodge at Echo. His many friends here extend their sympathy to the bereaved family.
