"Lyle"

     The funeral of James McNeil, son of Mr. and Mrs. A.R. McNeil, was held Saturday, August 17, at 3 P.M. at the church. The services were conducted by Rev. Henry Youngs of Hood River, with interment in the Balch cemetery. The floral offerings were beautiful and many friends and neighbors gathered to express their sympathy to the family in their sad bereavement. James McNeil was born in Lamont, Wash. May 10, 1915 and passed away August 16, 1918, at his home northwest of Lyle. He is survived by his parents, and one brother, Walter McNeil. Those attending the funeral from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Offutt of Kent, Wash.; Messrs. J. and Winter Offutt of Kahloteus, Wn.; Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Gardner of Yakima, and Mr. Scriven of Carson.

"City News Briefs"

Lyle Boy Dead -- James McNeal, 9-year-old Lyle, Wash., boy, will be buried at that city at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Interment will be under the direction of Crandall's. James was brought to a local hospital yesterday, but was later taken home. He died after being taken back to Lyle.
