MILLER
Jerome Altee (Jerry) Miller, 66, of Dallesport, passed
away Wednesday, Sept. 30 in The Dalles.
He was born one of a set of twins on June 23, 1926, born
to John A. and Lena Miller in The Dalles. His twin brother died in infancy.
Jerry attended Centerville Grade School and graduated
from Goldendale High School in 1944. During high school he was active in
sports and served as class president. He served in the U.S. Army during World
War II stationed in the South Pacific and on Okinawa.
Jerry married Corrinne Himle in 1949. He later married
Donna Beierle Spalding and Rose Krall.
For 30 years, he worked as a logger until ill health
forced his retirement. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting,
fishing, gardening and flowers. He was a member of the Disabled American
Veterans, the American Legion and the 77th Division Association.
He is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Monson and Marsh
Albertson of Montevideo, Minn.; three sisters, Helen Reirson and Jean Hannifan
of The Dalles, and Mary Jaekel of Centerville; two sisters-in-law, Florence
Miller of Goldendale and Mary Miller of Pullman, five grandchildren, and
several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Oct. 3 at the
Centerville Cemetery with Pastor Jim Bull officiating. Military honors were
conducted by Louis Leidl of American Legion Post #116.
Pallbearers included Mark Kayser, Keith Woodward, William
Olson, Herb Beierle, Cliff Wilson and Mike Scott, while honorary pallbearers
were E.C. Sturgis, Arthur Lawson and Bernie Shepler.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung
Association, 1776 S.W. Morrison, Portland, Ore. 97205. Erdman funeral home
was in charge of arrangements.

Jerome Altee (Jerry) Miller, 66, a resident of Dallesport,
died on Wednesday in The Dalles.

he was active in sports, lettering in baseball, football and excelling in
basketball.
Miller served in the U.S. Army during World War II and
was stationed in the south Pacific and on Okinawa. He married Corrine Himle
in 1949 and later was married to Donna Beierle Spalding and Rose Krall.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing,
gardening and flowers. He was employed as a logger for 30 years untill ill
health forced his retirement.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the
American Legion and the 77th Division Association.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Monson and Marsh
Albertson of Montevideo, Minn., and three sisters, Helen Reirson and Jean
Hannifan of The Dalles, and Mary Jaekel of Centerville; two sisters-in-law,
Florence Miller , Goldendale, and Mary Miller, Pullman; nieces and nephews
and friends.

the Centerville Cemetery with Pastor Jim Bull officiating and Louis Leidl
No. 116 American Legion officiating.
