JOSEPH PINELL
Joseph A. Pinell, a former Gorge resident and recently
of Williard Bay, Utah, died at a health care center in Bringham City, Utah,
on Dec. 2, 1997, at the age of 85.
Mr. Pinell was born in Winnipeg, Canada, of Oct. 12,
1912. He was adpoted by Frank Pinell and moved to North Dakota, then to
Willamette Valley, Ore., where he attended a Catholic school, He moved to
The Dalles in 1931. Mr. Pinell married Alice Gill of The Dalles in April
1933. He them married Evelyn Lott on March 3, 1979 in Ely, Nevada.
Mr. Pinell worked on fish seines at Senfford's Cannery
and various ranches during the 1930s. In the 1940s, he worked on the construction
on The Dalles Dam Highway. He retired to Utah in 1982.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, Williard Bay, Utah;
son and daughter-in-law Joseph M. and Peggy Pinell, Dallesport; daughter
and sin-in-law Eilleen and Jim Brashers, Lyle; son Mike, Reno, Nev.; eight
grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Graveside memorial services were held Dec. 6, 1997, at
3 p.m. at Lyle Cemetery.
