JESSIE ARNOLD
Jessie M. Arnold, a longtime area resident, died Aug.
25, 1996, in White Salmon, at the age of 88.
Mrs. Arnold was born April 2, 1908 in Salem, Ore., to
Laura C. (Robinson) and Elmer E. Tanner. She grew up in Salem. She married
Harold "Ted" Arnold in 1926. She moved to this area in 1939. They lived in
the Mt. Brook area, where they ran a ranch. He died in 1970. She continued
to live in this area the remainder of her life.
She loved quilt making, gardening, flowers and taking
short trips with her lady friends. She was always a dignified lady.
Mrs. Arnold is survived by her daughters, Juanita Schmid,
White Salmon, Norma Jean Fritchey, Vanderhoof, B.C., Pinky Holly, Glenwood;
two sons, Tom Arnold, White Salmon, Tim Arnold, Tacoma, and Nelson Arnold,
Seattle; brother Francis Tanner, Florence, Ore., and 8 grandchildren and
13 great-grandchildren.
Services for Mrs. Arnold will be held today, Aug. 29,
1996, at 2 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home, with Rev. Willem Romeijn officiating.
Interment will be at White Salmon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Skyline Foundation in care
of Gardner Funeral Home, who was in charge of the arrangements.
