JAMES J. SCHELHORN
James J. Shelhorn, 76, of Goldendale passed away on Saturday,
Sept. 21, 1996 in Portland.
He was born April 16, 1920 in Bemidji, Minn., to Frank
and Adeline Shelhorn. He attended schools there and served in the U.S. Navy
during World War II. James and Isabel Pfau were married in 1946 in Minnesota.
The family lived in Spokane until moving to Goldendale in 1968.
James worked as a machinist for the railroad until disability
forced his retirement. He was a member of the Catholic Church and the American
Legion and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Isabel, who died
in 1990.
Survivors include; five daughters; Patty Odegard of Fargo,
N.D., Rosemarie Peterson and Kathy Olson of Hood river; Margie Anderson of
Klickitat; and Teresa Campbell of Centerville; one son, Andy Shelhorn of
Goldendale; Ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at
1 p.m. at the Centerville Cemetery with Fr. Richard Conway officiating. Military
honors were conducted by Louis Leidl Post #116 American Legion.
Arrangements were under the care of Erdman Funeral Home.
