JAMES WROE
James A. Wroe, a White Salmon resident since 1969, died
of an apparent heart attack at work Thursday in Willard at the Broughton
Lumber Mill, at the age of 57.
Mr. Wroe was born Dec. 17, 1925, in Iona, S.D., to Mr.
and Mrs. Elmer E. Wroe. He came to White Salmon from Moon Lake in 1969. He
also lived in Appleton for a short time while a child. He was head mechanic
for Broughton Lumber Company and a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Jeani, White Salmon,; mother,
Ethel Wroe, White Salmon, children Colleen Engh, Anchorage, Alaska, Terry
Wroe, Bellevue, Virginia Wroe, Ellensburg, Debbie and Kristy Wroe, White
Salmon, two brothers, Don and Lee Wroe; one sister, Ethel; and three
grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Wroe were held Tuesday at 2
p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon, with Pastor Dennis Connor
officiating. Interment was in the White Salmon Cemetery.
