JESSIE "BENNIE" BROWN
Jessie "Bennie" Brown formerly of Lyle died Monday, February
28, 1994 in Seattle; he was 66.
Born April 29, 1927 in Lyle, Mr. Brown was the
great-great-grandson of Klickitat County pioneers William and Nancy Garner.
He attended the Lyle School for 12 years before entering
the United States Coast Guard. He left the Coast Guard after 26 years of
service and went on to work for the City of Seattle where he would retire.
Although he left Klickitat County in the 1940s, Mr. Brown
always considered Lyle "home" and kept up on all local news.
He enjoyed gardening, researching his Northwest heritage,
and being with his family.
Beloved husband and father, Mr. Brown is survived by
his wife Marlene of Bothell; daughters Besse (Mrs. Tom) Cooney of Snohomish,
Tabatha (Mrs. Don) Thompson of Kirland and Jessica Brown of Bothell; aunt
Clara Garner of Lyle, and cousins Mary Young of Vancouver and Nancy Garner
of Kirland. He had two grandchildren.
Memorial services were held March 5, in Bothell with
interment in Lyle. The family suggests all contributions in his name be given
to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
