CAHILL
June BeValle Cahill, a former resident of Goldendale,
born October 29, 1909 at Pendleton, passed away Sunday evening, March 4,
at her Wenatchee home.
Born to Rhodney and Nora Dupois, she moved at the age
of two to Rock Creek, Gilliam County, Oregon, with her foster parents Joseph
and Maud Hurt. In 1922, the family moved to Arlington, where she completed
her education and studied music.
As Mrs. Glenn McClasky, she lived at The Dalles four
years, then moved to Goldendale in 1941. In 1945, she married Gene Cahill
at Ellensburg, and they moved in 1947 to Wenatchee.
A pianist, Mrs. Cahill played in Oregon and Washington
dance bands after her graduation from high school. In Wenatchee, she was
employed by Peoples store, retiring in 1975 as a department head and buyer.
Survivors include her husband, at the family home; two
sons, Fred McClasky of Leavenworth and Brian Cahill of Wenatchee; a daughter,
Glenda Johnston of Goldendale; a sister, Claudia Wilson of Portland; and
nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death
by her parents and a brother.
Graveside services for Mrs. Cahill will be held Saturday,
March 10, at 2 p.m. in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Goldendale, Fr.
Seamus Kerr officiating. Funeral arrangements were made through Jones &
Jones Funeral Directors, Wenatchee.

June DeValle Cahill, 74, died Sunday evening at her Wenatchee
home.
She was born Oct. 29, 1909, at Pendleton, Ore., to Rhodney
and Nora Dupuois. At the age of 2, with foster parents Joseph and Maud Hurt,
she moved to Rock Creek, Gilliam County, a wagon rest stop where the emigration
road heads into John Day Canyon in Oregon.
In 1922 the family moved to Arlington, where she could
further her education and study music. A pianist, she played dance bands
in Oregon and Washington after graduating from high school. As Mrs. Glenn
McClasky, she lived four years at The Dalles, Ore., before moving to Goldendale
in 1941. In 1945 she married James Cahill at Ellensburg and since 1947 they
had made their home at Wenatchee.
She retired from Peoples Store as department head and
buyer in 1975.
Survivors include her husband, at home; two sons, Fred
McClasky, Leavenworth, and Brian Cahill, Wenatchee; a daughter, Glenda Johnston,
Goldendale; a sister, Claudia Wilson, Portland; nine grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
