FLETCHER
J. Bryan Fletcher passed away Feb. 8, 1987 in Goldendale.
He was born the only child of Joshiah and Lillie Farrington
on Sept. 4, 1896 in Bancroft, Neb. He attended college in Nebraska and owned
a ranch near North Platte, Neb. During the depression and he moved west,
working as a stockman and orchardist. He later owned and operated a truck
farm at Hermiston, Ore. While in Hermiston he lived with and claimed the
Rodda family as his own.
He married Millie C. Canfield on May 31, 1946, bought
a ranch west of Goldendale and developed a sheep and polled Hereford operation.
He was a member of Goldendale Grange 49, and had many
hobbies, including painting, writing, reading and orchard grafting.
He is survived by his wife Millie of Goldendale; four
children, Lillian Greene of Renton, E. Roswell Canfield, Bryan P. Fletcher
and Carol F. Garcia, all of Goldendale; six grandchildren, Ed Smith of Wishram,
Mark Smith of Snohomish, Jim and Glenn Greene of Renton, Jonathon and Lisa
Garcia of Goldendale; and one great-grand child.
Funeral services were held Feb. 11 at the chapel of the
Knosher-Erdman Funeral Home, with Pastor Wayne Byers officiating. Burial
was in the Centerville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Vaino Stenblom, Charles
Koenig, Max Largent, Arnold Nygaard, Clarence Tupper and Art Winterstein.
Honorary pallbearers were George Willis, Ron Roe, Rob Hutton, Elmer Reed
and Julian Payne.
