JEAN B. OLSON PASSES AWAY ON MAY 21ST
Jean Burdett Olson, a resident of Bingen, passed away at a hospital
in Portland on May 21st. She was born June 6, 1915 in McMinnville, Ore.
She was a school teacher who began her first assignment at Dot in the
eastern part of Klickitat County and taught many years at the elementary
school in Husum as well as in White Salmon in recent years. Her teaching
career spanned 35 years.
Survivors include: her husband, Elwin F. Olson, of
Bingen; one brother, Robert Burdett of Spokane, Wash.; several nieces and
nephews and other relatives.
Services were held Thursday afternoon, May 24, at 2 o'clock at
Gardner's Funeral Home in White Salmon with Mr. Mozart Burles officiating.
Pall bearers were David Moore, Leonard Graham, Dan Burdett, Jackson
Henningsen, Chester Teague and Mozart Burles. The interment was at the Lyle
Cemetery.
Mrs. Olson was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Washington
State Teachers Association.
