"White Salmon and District News"
Jonah B. Turner, one of the first settlers of the White Salmon valley, died at the home of William Rudolf in this city Saturday morning, the cause of death being heart failure. Harold Willard and Wm. Rudolf were at his bedside when he passed away, after an illness of only a few hours. He was 80 years of age. Mr. Turner was born in Pennsylvania in 1841, and came to White Salmon in 1875 and settled on his farm one mile north of this city, where he spent most of his time. He came out West for his health, both bothers and sisters having died of tuberculosis.
