"Laurel News"

     The community was greatly shocked last week to hear of the death of Mrs. G.W. Castle, who died at The Dalles following an operation for goiter. The remains were brought in Monday and laid to rest in Mt. Adams cemetery. She is survived by her husband. The many friends of the husband extend condolences in this sad hour.

     We are sad to report of two funerals here the past week. Mrs. Geo. Castle, who underwent an operation for the removal of a goitre, died while in The Dalles hospital. The funeral was held at our Grange cemetery Monday afternoon at one o'clock. the funeral of Mr. Grover of Laurel, was held Friday. The relatives of the deceased persons have the sympathy of the community.
