JOHN C. CLARKSON PASSES AWAY AT VANCOUVER
John C. Clarkson, 72, died at Vancouver Friday of last
week at the home of Mrs. I.E. Miller. He was a resident of White Salmon for
several years and was a member of Masonic lodge No. 163, of this place. He
lost his eyesight several years ago by a dynamite explosion while working
on road construction near Vancouver. His widow, two daughters and one son
survived.
The remains were laid to rest in the White Salmon cemetery
Wednesday.

John C. Clarkston died at the home of Mrs. I.E. Miller,
415 West Fifth street last night, aged 72.
Mr. Clarkston had been an ilvalid for the past three
years following the loss of his eyesight, which was caused by a dynamite
blast while he was employed by the Warren Construction company. Mr. Clarkston's
condition became worse 10 days ago and he was confined to his bed a week.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters and one son, whose address is
unknown.
He was a member of the F. and A.M. Lodge No. 163 of White
Salmon. The body is at Knapp's Funeral Parlors. Announcement of funeral will
be made later.

The body of John C. clarkston, who died at the home of
Mrs. F.E. Miller, 415 W. 5th street, May 15, was sent to White Salmon today
for burial in the family plot.
Funeral services were in charge of the Masonic Lodge
No. 163. The lodge appointed A.B. Groshong of White Salmon to come to Vancouver
and accompany the body. M. Clarkston left a wife and several children, but
their address was unknown. He had been blind for three years before his death
due to an accident.
The body was at Knapp's Funeral Parlors until the time
of its shipment to White Salmon.
