JACK COOP

     Jack Duane Coop died on Dec. 2, 1994, in Providence Hospital, Portland Ore.
     Mr. Coop was born Jan. 30, 1930 in Benkelman, Neb., to George and Julia Coop. He lived in Lakeside, Ore. and work for Menasha Plywood in the 1960s. He was working for Broughton Lumber Company in Willard until his retirement.
     He was a legend in the Willard/White Salmon area as the best carburetor man in town. He and his dog were Jake and the Fat man. They would often be seen heading downtown on Jack's motorcycle for breakfast with friends.
     Mr. Coop was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen; his father, George; his brother, Gary; his daughter, Patricia Ann; and his son, Jay Dee. He is survived by wife, Eleanor, Willard; mother, Julia Stevens, Lakeside, Ore.; brothers Jess Stevens, Johnstown, Ohio, Stan Stevens, Reedsport, Ore., Vernon Stevens, Lakeside, Ore.; and sister, Barbara Tunnell, Reedsport, Ore.; children Loren Dockery, Van Horn, Texas, Elaine Jordan, Vancouver, Jackie Crowther, O'Brien, Ore., Nelson Coop, Yacolt, George Coop, Vernal, Utah, Julie Miner, Vancouver; 21 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and various nieces and nephews.
     Services will be held at Gardner's Funeral Home in White Salmon on Dec. 7 at 11 a.m. Viewing is from 1 to 5 p.m. on December 6.

LOCAL 'LEGEND' DIES IN PORTLAND

     Jack Duane Coop died December 2, 1994, at the Providence Hospital in Portland. He was 64.
     Mr. Coop was born January 30, 1930 in Benkelman, Neb., to Julia (Smith) and George Coop. He lived in Lakeside, Ore. and work for Menasha Plywood in the 1960's. He was working for Broughton Lumber Company in Willard until his retirement.

     Services will be held today at Gardner's Funeral Home in White Salmon, at 11:00 a.m.
     Contributions may be made to Jack's family to help defray final expenses.
     To all his friends and family: he loved you and now he sleeps in peace.
