JOHN MITCHELL

     John David Mitchell, Dallesport, died Oct. 27, 1995, at his home, at the age of 67.
     Mr. Mitchell was born Feb. 14, 1928, in Augusta, Ark., to Jessie J. (Gower) and Charles H. Mitchell. He grew up in Arkansas. He served in the armed forces at the end of World War II and the beginning of the Korean War. After his discharge, he worked in the copper mines in Butte, Mont. He also worked for the railroad for a time.
     He married Jean McKee March 25, 1972, and they relocated to the Mid-Columbia area. He worked for Broughton Lumber Co., before he retired in 1985 for health reasons. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Lyle. He loved to hunt, fish and talk. He also loved to raise farm animals.
     Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife Jean, of Dallesport; mother Jessie Mitchell, Judsonia, Ark.; children John Mitchell Jr., Wishram, Betty Brink, San Antonio, Texas, Mike Mitchell, Aloha, Ore.; stepson Mike McKee, Port Orchard; brothers Paul Mitchell, Point Blank, Texas, and James Mitchell, Bacliss, Texas; sisters Twilla Curl and Bonita Hernandez, both of Bacliss, Texas, and Helen Brimmer, Bald Knob, Ark.; and nine grandchildren.
     Services for Mr. Mitchell were held Nov. 1, 1995, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Lyle, with Brother Bill Howard officiating. Interment was at Balch Lyle Cemetery.

     John David Mitchell, age 67, passed away October 27, 1995 at his home. He was born February 14, 1928, in Augusta, Arkansas. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Lyle and loved to hunt, fish and talk. He was a great conversationalist. He also loved to raise farm animals.
     Survivors include: his wife, Jean of Dallesport, Washington; mother, Jessie Mitchell of Judsonia, Arkansas; children John Mitchell Jr. Wishram, Washington, Betty Brink of San Antonio, Texas, Mike Mitchell of Aloha, Oregon and stepson Mike McKee of Port Orchard, Washington. Also surviving are his brothers: Paul Mitchell of Point Blank, Texas and James Mitchell of Bacliss, Texas. Sisters Twilla Curl and Bonita Hernandez of Bacliss, Texas and Helen Brimmer of Bald Knob, Arkansas, also nine grandchildren.
     Funeral Services will be Wednesday, November 1, 1995, 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Bingen, Washington. Officiating will be Brother Bill Howard. Committal will follow at Lyle Balch Cemetery, Lyle, Washington.
