JOHN HATFIELD DIES
Funeral services were held Tuesday for John Hatfield,
Blockhouse, who died suddenly January 16, 1971 here at the hospital. He was
born in 1892 and had lived in the area since 1900. He had complained of feeling
bad and had gone to the hospital, where he died unexpectedly.
Among the surviving relatives are two children, Rosemary
(Mrs. John Woodward) of Wenatchee and John Hatfield of Tampa, Fla.
Services were at Knosher Funeral Home with Rev. Don McCauley
officiating. Interment was Spring Creek Cemetery.

JOHN HATFIELD
John Edgar Hatfield was born September 16, 1892 at Joplin,
Mo. to Carroll D. and Laura M. Hatfield. He passed away January 16,1971 at
Goldendale.
With his family he moved in 1900 from Missouri to Blockhouse
which became their permanent residence.
He was married October 18, 1919 to Ruth A. Nye and they
lived all their married life in the Blockhouse area.
He has been a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles
for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth; his sister
Annette McKissick and his brother Walter.
Surviving are two children: Rosemary (Mrs. John T. Woodward)
of Wenatchee and John W. Hatfield of Tampa, Fl.; his sisters, Grace Henkle
of Mapleton, Or. and Eva Summers of Arlington, Wa.; also seven grandchildren:
Robert, Richard, Barbara and Karen Hatfield; David Barbee, Candy and Jackie
Woodward; also three nieces, Pearl Reid, Winnie and Dorothy nee Summers and
three nephews, Sam and Don Horner and Wendell Chaney.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Knosher Funeral
Home with Rev. Don McCauley officiating. Pallbearers were Owen Calvert, Lee
Darland, Tal Bratton, Arthur Winterstein, Don Ritzschke and Harold Hill.
Interment was in the Spring Creek Cemetery.
