JOHN "JOHNNIE" EDWARD JASPERSON, 79

     John "Johnnie" Edward Jasperson, 79, died Aug. 4. He was a resident of Dallesport for 27 years. He was born Dec. 14, 1910.
     He was a member of the Baptist Church and the local carpenter's union. He worked as a mill wright on The Dalles, Brown Lee, Hells Canyon and John Day Dams.
     Survivors include his wife, Gayle of Dallesport; three daughters, Carol Ann Carson of Ivercargill, New Zealand; Beck Weddle of The Dalles; and Sharon S. Rutledge of Goldendale; 11 grandchildren; and a brother Carl Jasperson of Lyle, Wash.
     Funeral services were Aug. 7, with the Rev. Bobby Joe Beauchamp officiating.
     Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association.
     Spencer, Libby & Powell was in charge of arrangements.

JOHN EDWARD JASPERSON

     John Edward Jasperson, 79, a resident of Dallesport, died at the local nursing home on Saturday.
     He was born Dec. 14, 1910 in Tennessee Ridge, Tenn. to Edward and Laura Jasperson.
     He grew up in Albert Lea, Minn, and married Gayle M. Gaskill in Forest City, Iowa on Jan. 22, 1935. They lived there for 10 years when he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. They then moved to Mevis, Minn. and lived there for 10 years prior to moving to Dallesport in 1956.
     While in this area, Mr. Jasperson worked as a mill wright on The Dalles Dam, Brownlee Dam near Madras, Hells Canyon Dam at Halfway; and John Day Dam.
     He was a member of the Baptist Church and the local carpenter's union.
     Survivors include his wife, Gayle, in Dallesport; three daughters, Carol Ann Corson, Ivercargill, New Zealand; Betty Weddle, The Dalles; and Sharon Rutledge, Goldendale; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Carl Jasperson, Lyle, Wash.
     Funeral services will be at the Dallesport Baptist Church on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Bobby Joe Bueachamp. Burial will be at the Lyle Cemetery.
     Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Disorder Association. Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
