JANETTE ST. LAWRENCE
Janette Wood was born in May 3, 1853. She grew to womanhood
in the state of California. She was married to George B. St. Lawrence October
16, 1871, to this union eight children were born, four of whom survive.
In 1878 the family moved to Klickitat arriving here March
of that year, finally taking up a homestead near the station of Warwick.
Here she made her home until about eight years ago, when she moved to
Centerville, where she made her home until her death on August 24, 1928,
being at the time of death 75 years, 3 months and 21 days old.
The following children survive her: George B. St. Lawrence
of The Dalles, Oregon; William St. Lawrence, Hartland, Wash.; Mrs. Grace
Creveling and Otis St. Lawrence, both of Goldendale; and eight grandchildren.
She was a member of The Christian Church at Centerville,
living a consistent christian life which our Lord had promised to all of
his children. The community has lost a loving friend and neighbor and a large
host of friends mourn her departure.
The funeral was held at the Christian church at Centerville
on Tuesday, August 28, being conducted by S.C. Eshelman, pastor of the church,
and the body laid to rest in the Grange Cemetery, south of town to await
the general resurrection of those who have fallen a sleep in Jesus.

THE DEATH OF JANET ST. LAWRENCE, PIONEER, 1878
Janett Wood was born May 3, 1853, and grew to womanhood
in the state of California.
She was married to George B. St. Lawrence, October 16,
1871. To this union eight children were born, four boys and four
girls.
George B. St. Lawrence and wife came to Klickitat county
in March, 1878, taking up a home-stead near what is now known as Warwick
station.
Here she made her home until about eight years ago, when
she moved to Centerville, where she made her home until her death, which
occurred August 24, 1928. Her age was 75 years, three and twenty-one
days.
She was a member of the Christian church at Centerville;
a consistent Christian; kind and loving neighbor. The community will miss
her.
The funeral services were held -from the Centerville
Christian church on Tuesday, August 28, being conducted by Rev. S.C. Eshelman.
The body was laid to rest in the Grange Cemetery, south of that town, to
await the call of the last trumpet, and the general resurrection of those
who sleep in Christ.
The following children survive her:
George B. St. Lawrence, of The Dalles; Wm. St. Lawrence,
of Hartland; Mrs. Grace Crevling, Goldendale, and Otis St. Lawrence, Goldendale.
Also eight grandchildren; and a host of friends, who join with them in their
hour of bereavement.
