SERVICES WEDNESDAY FOR JENNIE WIIDANEN

     Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Knosher Funeral Home for Jennie E. Wiidanen, a Centerville pioneer, who died Sunday morning at the age of 83 years. She was a resident of Simcoe Manor Nursing Home during recent months.
     Mrs. Wiidanen was preceded in death by her husband, the late Charles OWiidanen, who died in November, 1952. They had lived in Goldendale since their retirement in 1941. Before that, they had been farmers west of Centerville since their marriage, March 1, 1905.
     Mrs. Wiidanen was born at Adams, Ore., August 29, 1883, one of 12 children to Gustof Wilhelm and Eva Marie Planting. She was a faithful, life-long member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church. She had been a member of Centerville Grange for over 30 years.
     Mrs. Wiidanen is survived by a daughter, Mrs. W.L. "Tex" Uecker; four sisters, and a number of nieces and nephews. A son, Harry William, died in 1934. Four sisters and three brothers also preceded her in death.
     Ray Hilman of the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Centerville officiated at the 2 p.m. service at Knosher Funeral Home. Interment was in the Centerville Grange Cemetery.

JENNIE E. WIIDANEN

     Jennie Eufrasyne Wiidanen, who died at Simcoe Manor Nursing Home Sunday, January 9, was born near Adams, Ore., August 29, 1883. She was one of 12 children to Gustof Wilhelm and Eva Marie Planting, pioneers of that area.
     On March 1, 1905, she was married to Charles Wiidanen and came to live in Klickitat County, where she remained at the remainder of her life. Her husband was the oldest son of Centerville pioneers Andrew and Amanda Wiidanen.
     To Charles and Jennie were born two children, Harry William and Gladys. They operated the Wiidanen family farm, west of Centerville, until their retirement in 1941, when they came to Goldendale to live. After the death of her husband, Charles, in November, 1952, Mrs. Wiidanen continued to live at her home on east Main Street, Goldendale, until mid-October 1985, when she moved to residence at Simcoe Manor. She was a patient at Klickitat Valley Hospital from December 11 until January 7, when she returned to Simcoe Manor.
     Mrs. Wiidanen was life-long member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church. She was a member of Centerville Grange for over 30 years.
     Survivors include her daughter, Gladys (Mrs. Wade) Uecker; four sisters, Mrs. Fred (Elma) Enbysk, Alberta, Canada; Mrs. Leonard (Hulda) Zetterberg, Clatskanie, Ore.; Mrs. Louise Kirk, Portland; Mrs. Fred (Signe) Pell, Pendleton; many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Her son, Harry, preceded her in death in 1934.
     Ray Hilman, pastor of the Centerville Apostolic Lutheran Church, officiated at the service, held Wednesday, January 12, at Knosher Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Arnold Hoikka, Albine Wiidanen, Ernest Basse, Ray Mattson and Victor Lehto.
     Interment was at the Centerville Cemetery.
