JAMES E. WOOSLEY
James E. Woosley, a resident of the Mill A/Cook area,
died Saturday, Oct. 31, at home, at the age of 77.
He was born Aug. 24, 1910 to James B. and Annie L. (Miller)
Woosley in Little, Wash. In 1912, the family moved to White Salmon, where
he attended school. He worked in area orchards and the logging industry,
especially in 1933-34, when he fell snags in the original Yacolt burn. Mr.
Woosley married Ruby Tucker in Vancouver on March 18, 1939. During World
War II, he was the flume foreman for Broughton Lumber Company. The Woosleys
moved to the Mill A/Cook area in 1947. In 1950, he went to work for the
SP&S Railroad as a section hand. He retired in 1972. Mr. Woosley worked
as a security guard for Stevenson Co-Ply up until last year. He was a member
of Brotherhood of Maintenance of Ways, and loved to fish and read.
Mr. Woosley is survived by his wife, Ruby of Cook; sons
Ray D. of Colorado Springs, Colo., Allen L. of Portland, Ore., and Armen
R. of Union, Ore. brothers Bill of Hood River, Ore., and George of Fiddletown,
Calif., and five grand-children.
Services will be held Friday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. in the
chapel of Gardner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Judith Ann Richards officiating.
Interment will follow in the White Salmon Cemetery. Gardner Funeral Home
is in charge of arrangements.

care of Skyline Hospital, White Salmon.

JAMES E. WOOSLEY DIES AT HOME IN COOK
James E. Woosley, 77, of Cook, Washington died Saturday,
Oct. 31, 1987 at his home. Services will be held Friday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m.
at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon, the Rev. Judith Ann Richards
officiating. Interment will be at the White Salmon Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife Ruby, at home and three sons,
Ray of Colorado Springs, Allen of Portland and Armen of Union, Oregon.
Mr. Woosley is survived by two brothers, Bill of Hood
River, and George of Fiddletown, California. He is also survived by five
grandchildren.
