J.G. CLARK OF TROUT LAKE DEAD

Body of horseback rider was found lifeless beside road
James G. Clark, 74, left his home in Trout Lake Thursday
morning of last week on horseback en route to Glenwood. When his horse returned
home riderless, a few hours later, neighbors started a search and found the
lifeless body beside the road. District Attorney Smith and the deputy coroner
pronounced death due to apoplexy.
Mr. Clark was born in Cottage Grove, Ore., November 2,
1859. He had been a resident of the Trout Lake country for 14 years. Funeral
services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Good last Sunday at the family home.
He is survived by two sons and one daughter.

Funeral services were held at the Trout Lake church
for James Gustavus Clark, Saturday morning, February 10, 1934, who passed
away on February 7th from a stroke of apolexy, at the age of 74 years, 7
mo. and 5 days. He was born on Nov. 2, 1859, at Cottage Grove, Oregon. He
married Eliza Huff from Douglas county, Oregon, who died in 1929.
Three children were born to this union. Burt and Ray
Clark and Mrs Ora Elkins. Six grand children, also survive him. He came to
Trout Lake from Jefferson county, Oregon about 15 or 16 years ago and has
been making his home recently with the A.J. Warners. A large crowd attended
the services conducted by Rev. Good. A mixed quartet sang "Lead Kindly Light",
"Happy Day" and "Abide With Me". Interment was in the local cemetery. Our
deepest sympathy is extended to those who loved and survive him. God has
prepared a place for us all.
