     John Gordon Smith died at the home of his mother, Mrs. W.B. Smith, at midnight, Oct. 2. He was aged 23 years, 3 months and 3 days, having been born in North Carolina. Services were held Tuesday afternoon, from the Chapman chapel, with interment in the Spring Creek cemetery. An obituary will follow.

"Klickitat Young Men Die From Typhoid Fever"

     John Gordon Smith, born June 29, 1903, at Ashville, North Carolina, passed away at his home in Goldendale, October 2, 1926, from typhoid fever.
     He came to Washington with his parents in the year 1909. Had resided in Goldendale and vicinity since that time.
     Was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church, and is survived by his mother, Mrs. Rosa L. Smith, of this city. One brother, Wheldon B. Smith of Roosevelt, in eastern Klickitat. The sisters of this city are, Mrs. S.R. Hill and Francis Smith.
     He was well known and had many friends who mourn his loss. Interment was at Spring Creek cemetery, with Rev. D.A. Storey, pastor of the M.E. church, in charge of the services.
