JOHN HENRY CLARENCE
John Henry Clarence was born in Germany May 3, 1873,
and came to the State of Washington when 18 years of age, locating first
on a farm north west of Goldendale. He continued in farming in this area
until 1924 when he moved to Glenwood, returning in 1928.
He retired about four years ago and moved to Goldendale
and resided here until his death Sept. 16, 1947.
He was married in 1914 to Lillian Lee, who survives him.
Other relatives are a son, Albert Clarence, a stepson, Howard Lee, three
grandchildren, Herbert, Carl, and Henry Lee, two brothers and a host of other
relatives and friends. Four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral rites were held Friday, Sept. 19, at Phillips
funeral home, with Rev. Bruce B. Groseclose conducting. Interment was in
the Spring Creek cemetery.
Pall bearers were John Miller, C.H. Knosher, Floyd VanHoy,
Ray Gosney, Jr., Bud Oldham, and R.M. Spoon.
