JAMES COATE

     Memorial service for James H. Coate, who died Thursday in a Portland hospital, will be at 11:00 am Saturday in Caldwell Funeral Home.
     Burial will be in the cemetery at Trout Lake, WA.
     Born June 1, 1887 in Trout Lake, Mr. Coate lived most of his life in Portland. He resided at 6833 SE Pine Court.
     For 59 years he was with Kelley-Clark Co., retiring in 1968 as senior managing partner.
     Mr. Coate was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, Friendship Lodge 160 of AF&AM, Scottish Rite, and Shrine.
     He is survived by daughters Lucille V. Brown of Seaside and Shirley M. Coate of Portland; son, Charles D. of Portland; sister, Bess Schmid of Trout Lake; four grandsons, and two great grandchildren.
