JACK JOSEPH DRESSEL
Jack Joseph Dressel, 83, of Goldendale passed away Oct.
28, 1997 at his home.
He was born on April 9, 1914 in St. Ignatius, Mont. to
John and Marie Smith Dressel
Dressel attended school at St. Ignatius, Hillyard School
in Spokane and Connell. The family moved to Goldendale in 1923 and Jack graduated
from GHS in 1932. While in high school he participated in school plays, sports
and was student body President. After briefly attended the University of
Washington he sold insurance in the San Francisco area and married Pauline
Hiatt from Spokane.
During WW II he worked as a machinist at Boeing, then
Todd Shipyard in Seattle. In 1946 the family returned to Goldendale where
he went into the restaurant-tavern business.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, George and
Vincent and a sister Louisa Nickerson. His wife, Pauline, died in 1974.
Survivors include one daughter, Vicky Jetter, of Spokane;
three sons, Craig and Vince of Spokane and John of Goldendale; three grand
daughters; one great grandson; and one brother, Joe, of Goldendale; and a
special friend Clara West.
Jack was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. Mass
of Christian burial was said on Nov. 1 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with
Father Thomas V. Lane officiating.
Interment was in Holy Trinity Cemetery under the care
of Erdman Funeral Home.
