JONES J. THOMAS
Husum resident Jones J. Thomas, a native of that community,
died Aug. 28 at Dallesport. He was 72 years old.
He was born July 15, 1916 in Husum to Jake and Lucy (Cayuse)
Thomas, and grew up there. He served in the U.S. Army and served from 1942
to 1946. He came back to Husum after his discharge and worked as a logger
for a time. Mr. Thomas was a member of the Yakima Indian Nation.
He is survived by two sisters, Sophie Thomas of Husum
and Elsie Thomas of Bingen.
Dressing services for Mr. Thomas were held Tuesday, Aug.
30, in the chapel of Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon. Interment followed
on Aug. 31 in the Indian Cemetery at Husum.
