VETERAN OF CIVIL WAR IS LAID TO REST
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at Goldendale
for James K. Jarrett, 86, Civil war veteran, who died at his home on the
Heights Wednesday morning of this week. The body was shipped to Goldendale
by C.C. Anderson, and interment will be in Pleasant valley cemetery.
Enlisting at the age of 17, Mr. Jarrett served with the
Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry, and was in service during the entire period of
the Civil war. H was a member of the G.A.R. He was married 43 years ago to
Nancy A. Stump, who alone of his relatives survives him.
