CLIFFS RESIDENT PASSES AWAY ON APRIL 23
Jessie Lorena Ferguson, of Cliffs, passed away April
23rd at the age of 69 after an extended illness lasting over two years.
She was born Drywood, Chippawa County, Wisconsin, May
24, 1880, the daughter of James and Margaret Connell.
In 1903 she was married to Mike E. Melville, who was
accidently killed in 1906 after they moved to Dot, Washington.
In 1907 she was married to Charles L. Ferguson of Dot.
They had no children of their own, but raised five of his orphaned nephews
and one niece.
They lived on the Burn for several years, then moved
to Cliffs in 1915, where she lived until the time of her death.
She is survived by her husband Charles L. Ferguson; her
brother, Forest Connell, Yakima, and his two children, Margaret Kinsey and
James Connell; her foster children, Arthur Barret of Klickitat, Orville of
Duvall, Walter of California, Lloyd of Chehalis, Clyde of Walla Walla and
Luella Ritzschke of Centerville.
Funeral services were held from the Phillips Funeral
Home Wednesday, April 27, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Interment
was made at the Centerville cemetery.
