YOUNG VETERAN ACCIDENT VICTIM
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 16 at Gardner's
Funeral Home in White Salmon for Jack Leonard Schilling, who died at 8:10
p.m. in Skyline Hospital shortly after he was brought there by ambulance
from Glenwood following a car accident. Rev. Albert G. Edwards of Portland
officiated at the service. Burial was in Goodwill Cemetery at White
Salmon.
Casketbearers were Derrel Montgomery, Howard Murray Jr.,
Noel Andrew, Errol Andrew, Ron Feller and Ted Kuhnhausen. Honorary bearers
were Pat Vargason, Harry Dechand and Russell Barton.
Schilling was born July 27, 1944 in Hood River, Ore.
He was married July 8, 1967 at Glenwood to Anita L. Ladiges. He was a veteran
of the Vietnam war, having served in the Army Infantry from May 20, 1965
to May 19, 1967.
Besides his widow, Anita, and a two-month-old son, Leonard
Carl, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Leonard Schilling a brother, Lyle
B. Schilling, and three nieces all living at Glenwood.
