THE LATE J.W. DAY
Concerning the death of Mr. J.W. Day briefly mentioned
last week, Elder Adams of Spring Creek, hands in the following:
Mr. J.W. Day was born in Sioata Co., Ohio, April 2nd,
1874, and died of typhoid fever, January 1st, 1992, at the hospital at North
Yakima, after a short illness. His father, and mother, brothers and sisters
are residents of the Pine Forest neighborhood, about six or seven miles northwest
of Goldendale, where he had many warm friends.
He was brought home for burial and his funeral sermon
was preached at the Spring Creek school house by Elder J.E. Adams, after
which his remains were laid to rest in the Spring Creek cemetery. Our people
deeply sympathize with the family in their sad bereavement.
Mr. Day left his home here about Dec. 20th to go to Yakima
County, where he was engaged in the sheep business. While enroute he was
taken ill; and after a week or two, was taken to a hospital. He was only
there two or three days, when the disease took a turn for the worse and he
passed away. He was a brother-in-law to Charles Neal of Spring Creek, and
a most worthy young man.
