WHITE SALMON PIONEER PASSES

     Jacob Milton Locke, pioneer of White Salmon, age 78 years, died on Sunday, January 12, 1941, at the Klickitat General hospital in White Salmon.
     Jacob Milton Locke was born on March 6, 1870 at Chalk Level, Sinclair county, Missouri. Jacob Locke came to White Salmon at the age of 18 years and has lived in the White Salmon district for the past 52 years. He married Susan E. Clemons on January 24, 1895 at The Dalles. He resided in the Snowden district until his death.
     Jacob Milton Locke is survived by his wife, Susan Locke of North White Salmon; a son, Claude Locke, of Glenwood; one daughter, Mrs. John Splawn of White Salmon, and four grandchildren, Betty Lorengel and Joe Ann, of Glenwood; Marion Locke, and Dorothy Splawn, of White Salmon. Jacob Locke is also survived by four brothers, Emmett, of Washougal; Marion and Wesley Locke, of Bingen, and Monroe, of Husum.
     Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 15, 1941, in Gardner's Chapel in White Salmon with the Rev. J.C. Reynolds, of the Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in the White Salmon I.O.O.F. cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of Gardner's Funeral service of this city.

JACOB LOCKE, PIONEER WEST END MAN DIES

     Jacob Milton Locke, 70, resident of Klickitat county got the past 52 years, died last week at the klickitat General hospital in White Salmon following a severe heart attack. Mr. Locke was buried last Wednesday at the I.O.O.F. cemetery in White Salmon.
     He came to Klickitat as a youth of 18 and took a homestead in the Snowden district. He had lived in this county continuously until his death. His final illness was brought about by an injury received three years ago when a horse fell with him.
     He is survived by his widow, Susan Locke, one son, Marion Locke, of Glenwood, and a daughter, Mrs. John Splawn, of White Salmon; four brothers, Marion and Wesley Locke, of Bingen; Monroe, of Husum; and Emmett, of Washougal; four grandchildren, Mrs. Louis Lorengell, Marion Locke, jr., and Jo Ann Locke, of Glenwood; and Dorothy Splawn, of White Salmon. William Morehead, of Goldendale, is a nephew.
