RITES HELD HERE FOR JAKE BEEKS, PIONEER RESIDENT

     Funeral rites were conducted Wednesday afternoon for Jake Beeks, 77, a life-long resident of this area. Mr. J.C. Clifford of Goldendale was the officiating minister, and interment was made in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
     Mr. Beeks died last Saturday at Goldendale. His survivors include his widow, Minnie Beeks of Goldendale; a daughter, Maude, of Goldendale; a brother, William Beeks of White Salmon; a sister, Della Davenport; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Mr. Beeks' obituary will appear next week.
     He was born in Pleasant Valley on May 10, 1878 and lived at Cliffs in recent years. He was married to his present wife at Goldendale on January 5, 1938.
     Pallbearers at the services were: Jake Ellsworth, John Lee, James Fuhrman, Ray Ferguson, Andrew Swan, and Oren Story.
