"Town and Country"
John H. Hansen, of Glenwood, a deputy field assessor, died quite suddenly this week, while undergoing a surgical operation at the hospital in The Dalles. Mr. Hansen had been a resident of Klickitat county for many years, and had an extensive acquaintanceship. He is survived by his wife.

The funeral of John Hanson was held on Wednesday, March 24th at his home east of town. He was laid to rest in the Mt. Adams cemetery, Rev. Beaumont having charge of the services. Mr. hanson was born near Rochester, Minnesota, November 25, 1869, and was married to Miss Helen Byornrud April 18, 1896. He passed away at The Dalles hospital on March 22, 1920, caused from a very serious siege of the flu. He leaves to morn his loss his faithful wife residing on Glenwood; his mother, sister, Hannah, brother Albert of Portland; Burnard of Prosser, Washington; a sister, Mrs. Mike Kitzman of Rochester, Minnesota; August of Glenwood. He was a member of the Norwegian Lutheran church, also a member of the Elks lodge, Eagles, of Van Couver, Washington. he was a very industrious man and took part in many activities of development of the county. He came to klickitat county in 1902. He served as deputy assessor of Klickitat county. His wife has the deepest sympathy of the entire community in this the saddest hour of her life.

John H. Hanson, of Glenwood, whose death was briefly chronicled in the Agri. of March 26th, was born near Rochester, Minn., November 25th, 1869. On April 18th, 1896, he was married to Miss Heline Bjormud. He came to Klickitat county in 1902, and passed away on March 22nd, 1920. He died at The Dalles hospital from an abscess of the brain, caused by a severe attack of the influenza. Mr. Hanson leaves to mourn his loss, a wife; his mother, residing in Portland; a sister, Hannah, and a brother, Albert, of Portland; a brother, Bernard, of Prosser; a sister, Mrs. Mike Kirtman, of Rochester, Minn.; and a brother, August, of Glenwood. Mr. Hanson was one of the most industrious farmers of the Camas Prairie district, where for a number of years he took a prominent part in the general development of western Klickitat. He was a member of the Norwegian Lutheran Church; a member of the Elks; and a member of the Eagles. The funeral services were held at the family home, east of Glenwood, by Rev. William Beaumont, with a large number of friends attending to pay parting respects to one who has been a friend and kind neighbor.
