RITES MONDAY FOR TROUT LAKE MAN

     John Oliver Hawkins, a resident of Trout Lake, Wash., the past 20 years, passed away at his residence July 27th. He was born in January 23, 1884 in Tennessee. Surviving are: a sister, Rosalie Waake of Spokane, Wash.; a number of nieces and nephews, including Lester V. Mulkey of Bingen. Funeral services were held Monday Aug. 1st at 10 a.m. at Gardner's Chapel with Rev. Alfred S. Palmer officiating. Interment was in the White Salmon IOOF cemetery.

TROUTLAKE MAN IS FOUND DEAD

     John Oliver Hawkins, 76, Trout Lake, was found dead in his bed Thursday afternoon, July 28 by Merle Johnson and Arthur Jones, who notified the Klickitat County Sheriff. He had apparently died Wednesday night. He lived in a cabin on the Jones ranch.
     Mr. Hawkins, a bachelor, was born Jan. 23, 1884 in Tennessee. He lived in Trout Lake for 15 years and was a former farmer, logger and watchman at Hollenbeck mill.
     Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 1, at Gardner's Chapel, White Salmon. Rev. Alfred S. Palmer officiated. Burial was in the Odd Fellow cemetery.
     He is survived by six nieces and nephews, including Lester V. Mulkey of Bingen, Dale Huggins of Garfield, Harold Huggins, Rosalie Waske of Spokane, Richard Smith of Seattle and Agnes Morrison of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
