JOHN C. EWING
John C. Ewing, 88, of Goldendale, died July 17, 1999.
He was born Feb.17, 1911 in Eckley, Colo. to Charles
and Margaret Ewing. He attended schools in Wray, Colo. and came to Washington
as a young man. John served in the Army during W.W. II and after returning
he worked in the lumber mills and as a rancher, mostly near Chehalis.
He married Frances Eggert in 1958, and she died shortly
after their move to Goldendale in 1980. John then married Daisy Brock in
1981, and she also preceded him in death in 1991.
John was a member of the LDS church; a 50-year member
of the American Legion in Chehalis, and he loved old cars.
Survivors include a son, Conrad, of Winlock; five
step-daughters, Arlie Gray of Goldendale, Dorothy Neil of Alamorgordo, N.M.,
Ruth Bloechl of Bremerton, Ada May Bloechl of Hagerman, N.M., and Dona Jerez
of Republic; two step-sons, Ronald Barton of Buckley and Henry Gould of Raymond;
31 grandchildren; and two sisters, Zella Van Norstand of Rialto, Calif and
Leeta Edingfield of Fairview, Okla.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 22 at 2
p.m. at the LDS Church in Goldendale. Interment will be in Pleasant Valley
Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Erdman Funeral Home.
