JOHN J. THOMAS
John J. Thomas of White Salmon died Oct. 3, 1996 at the
age of 68.
Mr. Thomas was born March 16, 1928 in Louisville, Ky.,
to Rosa (Eichberger) and John William Thomas. Mr. Thomas grew up in Arkansas
and after that served in the U.S. Navy.
After being discharged, he moved to the White Salmon
area, where he worked at a local sawmill for many years. Mr. Thomas married
Nadine Green in 1978.
He hosted the Thomas Family Reunion the last two years
and was a member of the Eagles Lodge, where he enjoyed playing
shuffle-board.
He is survived by sisters Rosemary Kerr, Oroville, Calif.,
and Francis Fain, Gresham, Ore.; numerous nieces and nephews and best friends
Ray Chambers and Nancy Shaw, both of White Salmon.
Graveside services will be held Monday, Oct. 16 at 4
p.m., officiated by Mr. Jack Udall. Committal will be at the White Salmon
Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon.
