SERVICE NEXT MONDAY FOR J. LAUTERBACH
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 21,
at 11 a.m. at Gardner's Funeral home here for John Lauterbach who died of
a heart attack about noon Wednesday while walking on White Salmon's Jewett
Avenue.
The Rev. Alfred Waln will officiate at the service. The
complete obituary will be printed next week.

SERVICE HELD ON MONDAY; J. LAUTERBACH
John Lauterbach, son of Rudolph and Willamina Lauterbach,
was born at Rosebud, Texas, on January 9, 1886. In 1892 he came as a __ year-old
boy with his parents to the White Salmon community.
He attended school here and was married to Ruby Barnhart
at her home near White Salmon on November 12, 1916. John and Ruby bought
a home on the corner of Lincoln and Garfield streets in White Salmon in 1918
and made their home there for 45 years.
As a young man, John Lauterbach helped install the first
water system for White Salmon. He helped to operate this until it was taken
over by the city and then help to operate it for the city until 1924.
At that time, he and his brother, William, purchased
the White Salmon Dressed Meat Co. They operated this, together with a cattle
ranch near Trout Lake until 1953. At that time John sold his business interests
and retired.
John and Mrs. Lauterbach traveled considerably during
the first 6 years of their retirement. Approximately one year ago they moved
into a new home on West Jewett.
John is survived by his wife, Ruby; by one sister, Louise
Lauterbach of Portland; by three brothers: August and William of White Salmon,
and Henry of North Bonneville; and by several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Monday, December 21st, at Gardner's
Chapel at 11 a.m. The Rev. Alfred Waln officiated. Interment will be at the
Goodwill Cemetery in White Salmon.
