JOSEPH MARVIN, PIONEER, PASSES AWAY
Joseph Marvin, pioneer of the Camas Prairie, died at his home in the city Monday
evening at 10:13 o'clock, as a result of two strokes of paralysis during the
week before. He was 77 years of age. He was born in the East and came across
the plains from Missouri at the age of twelve years. He was one of the early
settlers of the Glenwood district and farmed there for a number of years until
20 years ago when he lived in the Willamette Valley and also in Mitchell,
Oregon, and the past few years lived in this city.
He leaves to mourn his loss three daughters, Mrs. Anna
Carroll of this city; Mrs. Emma Carroll of Lebanon, Oregon; and Mrs. Jessie
Carroll of Corvallis, Oregon; one son John Marvin of this city; and a sister.
The funeral was held Wednesday morning with the
internment in the Odd Fellows cemetery.
