JOSHUA MAYHEW PASSES AWAY
Joshua Mayhew was born in England, June 21, 1833. He
came to this country as a child, settling in New York. He moved to Minnesota
and was married to Isabel Squires, in Anoka county, Minnesota, in 1858. Five
children were born to them, of whom three survive him. With his family he
came to Washington about 20 years ago, and has lived in White Salmon since
1906. He died Sept. 30th, aged 90 years, 3 months and 9 days, and is survived
by his widow, one son, Warner I. Mayhew, of White Salmon, and two daughters,
Mrs. Rosa Weir, of Washougal, Mrs. W.G. Kellog, of White Salmon. He was a
member of the local Mt. View Grange and of the Bethel Congregational church,
of White Salmon.
The funeral services were held Tuesday at the Congregational
church, and the remains laid to rest in the I.O.O.F cemetery.
