FUNERAL HELD FOR JOHN PFISTER
TROUT LAKE, May 24, (Special) -- John Pfister, old time resident
of Trout Lake, passed away at the Skyline Hospital on Wednesday. His funeral
was held on Saturday in the Presbyterian Church at Trout Lake. Reverend Borhauer
officiated. Mrs. Homer Spencer rendered the music. Friends and relatives
from out of town to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ross of Portland,
George Shaw also of Portland, Gordon Shaw, Seaside; Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Pearson, Amelia Pearson of Vancouver; Mrs. and Mrs. Charles Henke, Portland;
Mr. and Mrs. Homer Spencer of Beaverton, Oregon; and Mrs. Lou Spencer, Portland.
Burial was in the Trout Lake Cemetery. Our sympathy goes
to the bereaved ones.

DEATH SUMMONS JOHN PFISTER
Services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 21, in the
Trout Lake church for John Pfister, 71, resident of Trout Lake since 1918.
The Rev. Harold Borhauer officiated. Burial was in Trout Lake cemetery.
Mr. Pfister was born at Nuremberg, Germany, January 26,
1884. He followed the sea until his voyages brought him to Portland, Oregon
where he jumped ship to settle in the Northwest.
For 24 years he operated a meat market in Trout Lake,
and operated a power plant for part of the valley before outside electricity
was brought into the valley.
In 1915 he married Elizabeth Ross of Portland who survives
him. Other survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Lawrence McCuistion of Trout
Lake; and two granddaughters, Heather McCuistion of Trout Lake and Mrs. Ronald
Hollenbeck of Pullman.

JOHN PFISTER DIES AT SKYLINE
John Pfister, a resident of Trout Lake since 1918, died
at Skyline hospital May 18.
Born January 26, 1884, Pfister came to this county from
Germany, where he was born in Nurnberg. For 24 years he had a meat market
in Trout Lake and for a time had the only power plant there for electricity
serving a part of the community before power was brought to the valley.
He met Elizabeth Ross in Portland and they were united
in marriage there in 1915.
Surviving are his wife Elizabeth, his daughter, Mrs.
Lawrence McCuistion and a grand-daughter, Heather Elizabeth all of Trout
Lake, another grand-daughter, Mrs. Ronald Hollenbeck of Pullman.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 21 in the Trout
Lake church, with Reverend Borhauer officiating. Interment was in the Trout
Lake Cemetery.

Mrs. Art Jones and Mrs. Charles Brown sang with Mrs.
Homer Spencer accompanying on the piano.
