JOHN ROBERT TOBIN DIES ON MARCH 17
After a period of recent illness, John Robert Tobin,
Centerville pioneer died March 17 at Klickitat Valley Hospital at 66 years
of age.
He was born at Centerville July 11, 1895. Centerville
also was the place of his baptism into the Church of Christ December 22,
1907.
John Tobin was a Centerville rancher most of his life.
He leaves his wife, Goldia; two sons, Lyle of Centerville
and Jack of Klickitat; and a daughter, Gene Burke of White Salmon. One daughter,
June, preceded him in death.
He also leaves six grandchildren and five great
grandchildren. Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Ada Niva of Tigard,
Ore., and Mrs. Lillian Edwards of Portland.
Services were held Tuesday, March 20, at Knosher Funeral
Home in Goldendale. George A. Gardner was the officiating minister.
Pallbearers were Vernon Hinshaw, Harvey Niemela, Edward
Hoctor, Bud Ritzschke, Clarence Kelly and Harold Eshelman. Interment was
in the Centerville Grange Cemetery.
