JASON SANCHEY

     Jason B. Sanchey, 20, Glenwood, died on Friday, Oct. 20, 1995, from injuries received in a logging accident.
     Mr. Sanchey was born on Nov. 22, 1974, in Goldendale to George and Jerilynn Sanchey. He graduated from Glenwood High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1993 to February of 1995. He was presently employed as a logger.
     He enjoyed sports, the outdoors and skiing.
     Mr. Sanchey is survived by his parents, George and Jerilynn, Glenwood; brothers, Ryan and Gregory, both of Glenwood; grandparents George and Charolett Sanchey and Jerry and Wilma Moss, all of Klickitat; great-grandmothers Mathilda Sanchey, White Swan, and Ethel Sherman, Kansas City, Kan.; and girl friend Daralyn Spies, Glenwood.
     Services for Mr. Sanchey were held Monday, Oct. 23, 1995, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Erdman Funeral Home, with Pastor Greg Petrie and Nickolas Swan officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Adams Cemetery in Glenwood.
     Arrangements were handled by Erdman Funeral Home, Goldendale.

YAKIMA TRIBAL POLICE

     A 20-year old Glenwood man was killed Friday when a logging vehicle he was operating rolled on top of him at the base of Mount Adams.
     Jason Sanchey, who began working as a logger in July, died instantly from massive head injuries, according to Leonard Birkinbine, Yakima County coroner.
     Sanchey was operating a skidder for Elk Horn Logging Co. of Glenwood on a Yakima Indian Nation timber sale. When the skidder rolled, Sanchey was ejected and pinned beneath it.
     The accident occurred on Potato Hill, some 30 miles west of White Swan on the north side of Mt. Adams and on the western border of the Yakima Indian Reservation.

     Jason enjoyed sports, the out-doors and skiing.
     Funeral Services were held Monday, October 23 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Erdman Funeral Home with pastor Greg Petrie and Nickolas Swan officiating. Burial was in the Mt Adams cemetery In Glenwood. Pallbearers included Lawrence Fiander III, Clint Montgomery, Jeff Sampson, Orien Fiander, Allen Wellenbrock and Joe Bales.
     Honorary Pallbearers were Jerry Dean, Billy Valdez, John LaVallie, Jeff LaVallie, Brian Fiander and Lawrence Fiander III. Military Honors were conducted by the Yakima Warrior Assn.
