DEATH TAKES S. CALLIHAN ON FRIDAY
J. Scott Callihan was born in Artesian, South Dakota,
February 24, 1898. In 1906 he moved with his parents to Bend, Oregon. In
1908 his family moved to Union, Oregon where he graduated from high school.
In 1918 he joined the World War I American Expeditionary
Forces and was sent to Siberia.
After returning from Siberia, the entered Oregon State
College graduating from the School of Pharmacy in 1923.
After completing college he went to The Dalles, Ore.,
and worked for eighteen years in the Donnell Drug Store.
He was married to Marian White in The Dalles in 1927.
In 1942 the family moved to Bend, Oregon where Scott
worked for three years in the Brandis Thriftwise Drug Store.
In 1945 he bought his Zwynen's Drug Store and made his
home in White Salmon since that time.
He was a member of the Methodist Church, American Legion
and the Elks Lodge.
J. Scott Callihan, retired druggist, passed away February
10th, 1966 in White Salmon. Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 14th,
11 a.m. at Gardner's Funeral Chapel in White Salmon with the Rev. Mr. Alfred
Waln officiating. Interment was at White Salmon, Washington, in the Goodwill
Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife Marian, one daughter, Mrs. Harry
Hunsaker, two sisters, Mrs. Victoria Hearing of White Salmon, Margaret Callihan
of Portland, a brother L.C. Callihan of Portland, and three grandchildren.

DEATH SUMMONS SCOTT CALLIHAN
Funeral service says for J. Scott Callihan, 67, White
Salmon were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 14 at Gardner's Chapel. The Rev.
Alfred Waln officiated. Burial was in Goodwill Cemetery.
Casket bearers were: Earl Warneke, Keith McCoy, Howard
Jaeger, Wilbur Dunlap, Lewis DeWalt and Bob Yeo.
Scott was born Feb. 24, 8988 in Artesian, South Dakota.
In 1906 he moved with his parents to Bend, Oregon and in 1908 to Union, Ore.,
where he was graduated from high school.
And 1918 Scott joined the World War I American Expeditionary
Forces and served in Siberia. After the war, the entered Oregon State College
and received his degree in pharmacy in 1923.
He was employed as a pharmacist in the Donnell Drug Store,
at The Dalles, Oregon for 18 years. He was married to Marian White in The
Dalles in 1927.
In 1942 they moved to Bend, Ore. where Scott worked in
the Brand is Thriftwise Drug Store until 1945 when he bought Zwynen's Drug
Store in White Salmon were he has since made his home.
After selling his pharmacy to Forrest Walker, Scott retired
on Sept. 1, 1963. He died Thursday, Feb. 10 at Skyline Hospital, White Salmon.
He was a member of the Methodist Church, American Legion
and Mt. Adams Elks Lodge 1868 of White Salmon.
Surviving are his wife, Marian; daughter, Mrs. Harry
Hunsaker; two sisters, Mrs. Victoria Hearing of White Salmon and Mrs. Margaret
Callihan of Portland; brother L.C. Calihan of Portland and three grandchildren,
John Scott, Terry and Anne.
